Classes
Susie frequently holds classes in her watercolor studio, The Artist’s Corner, and oil studio, Atelier Copper. Here is a lineup of the regularly offered classes as well as a calendar with upcoming events.
If you need supplies for Susie’s weekly oil class or monthly watercolor class, they can usually be purchased for an additional fee. Check out the details below and be sure to let Susie know that you will need supplies when you sign up for the class. Remember to wear your paint clothes to oil classes!
Beginning Oil Painting with Susie
Most Saturdays, Susie holds a step by step oil painting class. You will learn the basics of drawing, mixing paint, and general procedures for oil painting. The subjects are often lovable local animals, which has affectionately given this class the nickname “Paint Your Pet”.
All students paint their picture from the same photograph. If you’re interested in submitting your own pet to be the subject of a class please take a photo and send it to Susie. The photo must use natural light, usually early morning or late afternoon light works best. If your photo is chosen for PYP Susie will reach out to you. Cost:
$25 per class OR $45 – $55 if all supplies are provided for you ($25 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration if you require supplies)

Beginning Watercolor

Old Masters' Oil Techniques with Heinie Hartwig of Soulsbyville
Learn to paint the way the old masters from 1860 – 1900 painted — detailed, yet fast and loose

$75 per lesson

Open Paint Session on Thursdays
Each Thursday, Susie hosts an open paint session. Every week, she focuses on one medium:
oil, acrylics, watercolor, or pastels.
